Recently, I gave a seminar about scientific publishing to my fellow colleagues in the university. The title of the seminar was "Becoming published: the basic ingredients". I just went through the process of publishing an academic & scientific article in conference or a journal. I wanted to highlight the most important things to consider and some pitfalls and tips. Based on the feedback I received from the audience now I believe there should more focus on such seminars and workshops to share the experience as well as help those who are just starting the publication process. Probably the date/time of the seminar presentation was not suitable for all to attend and some did ask me to repeat this seminar again. Let's hope so. I plan to cover this area more to address issues like "How do I start" and "Where do I publish". I just hope to share my humble experience and may be it will be useful.
